WHY I DO THIS WORK
Goal Setting for Liberation
Goal setting isn’t just a productivity hack to me—it’s a deeply human, transformative practice.

For nearly two decades, it’s been my compass: helping me heal, stay grounded, and take meaningful action in a world that can feel overwhelming. I’ve used it to navigate personal challenges, sustain joy, and work for change alongside others.

When done with care, goal setting can be liberatory. It’s not about squeezing more into your day—it’s about finding your why, honoring your capacity, and taking steps, big or small, toward what matters most.

Sometimes that’s something deeply personal, like watering your plants every week. Sometimes it’s something bigger, like showing up for political action. Both count. Both are part of the work.

In workshops and groups, we map out these goals together. We share ideas, build micro-skills, and create approaches tailored to our strengths, values, and identities. We support each other through the messy middle. And together, we create change—for ourselves, our communities, and the planet.
About Me as a Goal Setter
I'm a lifelong goal setter. As a teen, I obsessively taught myself how to set goals that worked for me as a way to deal with the chaotic world.
As a professional health educator, Goal Setting is one of the 7 National Health Education Skills that I teach students.
As a community builder, I have been leading goal setting groups for myself, in my work places, in schools and more for over 15 years.

My approach is warm, flexible, and rooted in collaboration. This isn’t about getting everything “right”—it’s about helping you connect to what matters, take imperfect steps forward, and keep showing up for yourself and your community.
BEAUTY IN
ORGANIZED
ACTION
In nature, beauty and order live side by side—the quiet patterns of the stars, the steady rhythm of the tides, the unfolding of a mountain trail.

Goal setting can be like that, too. It’s not about rigid control or endless striving—it’s about shaping our lives in ways that are both intentional and alive, grounded and full of possibility.

In community, this practice becomes even more beautiful. Whether your goal is as small as watering your plants each week or as expansive as organizing for political change, the process itself can be grounding, liberatory, and deeply human.

In workshops and groups, we find our own rhythms and approaches—rooted in strengths, values, and identities—and support each other through the messy middle. Together, we create change for ourselves, our communities, and our world.

I used to think that I wasn't someone who couldn't set goals because I would always try and fail. From being in a Goal Setting group, I now know that not only am good at goal setting, but *I enjoy the whole process*, including when things don't go as originally planned.
